About Me

Welcome to Van Schalkwyk Photography! I am a certified birth and newborn photographer and as part of my certification requirements I am also certified in first aid and CPR to best ensure the safety of your little ones which is at all times my main priority whilst capturing these beautiful memories and details to last a lifetime. My work has also been published in multiple magazines internationally.

You can book me for a Newborn photoshoot, Cake Smash Photoshoot, Sitter Session, Maternity photoshoot or a family Shoot or even individual Portraits.

Let me introduce myself, my name is Chantel and I am 34 years old. I am the proud mother of two beautiful children, a boy and a girl. The experience of being a mother myself has given me the insight of how to work with children and babies and given me the patience to understand and engage with them on their level.

I would best describe myself as a loving and caring person, I wear my heart on my sleeve and always try to see the best in every person I meet without judgement. I quickly form a bond with every client I meet and see it as a privilege to be able to capture a family's loving bond and special moments for them to always be able to look back on and making this an enjoyable and comfortable experience is equally as important.
